Zoos Victoria operates three landmark zoos, Healesville Sanctuary, Melbourne Zoo and Werribee Open Range Zoo. We currently have an opportunity for a confident, positive and enthusiastic, experienced Trade Keeper to join the Wild Sea Precinct.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Marine mammal keeping experience
- Marine mammal training and enrichment experience
- Fish and invertebrate keeping experience
- Experience with Aquatic Life Support Systems
- The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Knowledge of Zoos Victoria's vision and values
- A strong focus on safety
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly regarded experience:
- An open water scuba diving certificate
- Husbandry experience with ungulates, carnivores and aquatic animals.
The successful applicant will be required to complete a pre-employment medical to ensure the inherent requirements of the role are met as well as a willingness to participate in additional training as required.
